Another poor turnout for what should be a hotly contested handicap given those eligible for it. Lochiel is the selection to put an end to the winning streak of Annibale Caro, who races here under a 12lb penalty after two victories over course and distance. Little value is likely to exist where the price of the favourite is concerned and Sue Bradburne's Lochiel could be the one to put an end to the favourites winning streak. The winner of a very weak Hamilton maiden on his penultimate start, the selection was far from disgraced when running Royal Amnesty to 3/4l over the course recently. Suspicions exist with regard to his reserves of stamina as he did wander in the later stages last time but we will take the favourite on at the likely odds. When the penalty is taken into account, Annibale Caro races off a mark 19lb higher than the victory of his winning sequence this month. He won a poor but competitive handicap last time. Easibet Dot Net was no match for the very well handicapped Silver Seeker last time but deserves respect. Lochiel gets the vote to land the finale.
