In depth

Verdict

A poor turnout for this opening maiden but nonetheless Excellent Show looked a juvenile of some promise behind the well touted Haigh Hall at Thirsk on her racecourse debut and she is selected to break her maiden duck at the second time of asking. Her conqueror at Thirsk contests Wednesday evenings Hilary Needler Trophy at Beverley and that filly should give a strong indication of what the selection achieved at Thirsk. Rievaulx World caught the eye of many paddock judges on his racecourse debut at Chester and while not disgraced when failing to turn around the form of his debut at Chester with Fivefootnumberone at Haydock, he shaped as one that would appreciate a step up to 6 furlongs. Acclaben would need to be smart to score at the first time of asking while Lady Fantasie needs to leave the form of her two outings well behind to score.
