    Verdict

DAYIA ran a blinder in the Cesarewitch and Jeff Pearce's mare gets the nod here ahead of Som Tala and Alanbrooke. Several of these raced against each other at Newmarket however the selection came off by far the best, filling fourth place behind Darley Sun. She had previously been a good winner at Wolverhampton and the Act One mare can gain her first turf win at the fifth time of asking. Callisto Moon is one of several pace angles in the race and although he comes here on the back of a good hurdling effort at Market Rasen after two flat wins, he is reluctantly taken on. Gordonsville ran well at Newmarket and along with stablemates Dazzling Light and Buckie Boy, this course winner is a danger with the yard in good form, whilst Wicked Daze steps back up in trip and looks fairly handicapped. Puy D'Arnac may need some more rain to be at his best, Aaim To Prosper stays well and cannot be overlooked, whilst Alanbrooke is better than his run last time out suggested. At a price Som Tala could run well as he is now 2lb below his mark when winning the Northumberland Plate in June, however in a tricky, yet quality staying race, it is Dayia who is fancied to come out on top.
