Recent winners Lewyn and Magical Macey must be high on any shortlist however we will take a chance on BESTY for whom Paul Hanagan looks an interesting jockey booking. Bryan Smart's son of Compton Place was not disgraced at Ayr last time out on his nursery debut. His previous third to Racy at Pontefract looks solid and with his speedy pedigree the drop in trip may suit. Lieu Day Louie was ahead of him at Ayr and warrants plenty of respect, although he seemed to improve for six furlongs last time out. Lewyn won nicely at Wolverhampton, a just reward for some solid efforts in September, whilst Micky's Knock Off and Dancing Freddy were behind him there but the former especially may appreciate a return to the scene of his sole win to date. Eternal Instinct drops in class having contested a Group Three last time out; this is his easiest assignment to date and he may be feasibly handicapped. Magical Macey was a Haydock scorer last time and has improved plenty for the application of the blinkers, however in an open race we will side with Besty.
