Verdict

Named At Dinner can beat stablemate Prairie Sun, with Leopold best of the rest. Ann Duffield has a strong hand here, saddling the two fancied runners, with our preference for Named at Dinner. Although only plating-class on the Flat, he has performed with credit over timber this term, and after finishing fifth behind Hernando's Boy at Wetherby, he has continued to give a good account of himself. Put in his place by the useful Iron Man at Ayr, he was only just touched off by Classic Event at Newcastle, and with Tony Dobbin in the plate again, can make amends at the expense of Prairie Sun. The German-bred was perhaps given a bit too much to do at Market Rasen last time when Keith Mercer had her anchored at the back throughout. When she did finally get going, the leaders had flown, and she will surely be kept a bit closer to the pace this time. Of the rest, Leopold, fifth at Huntingdon last time, makes more appeal than Canadian Storm, but the outcome should really be a one-two for Ann Duffield, with Named At Dinner leading them home.
