SMART LASS has won three times on the Flat here and twice finished second over hurdles on the track. She should be capable of winning a race like this and gets the nod. Gemologist was a long way behind her on the level here last September and has never won in 30 starts but Headscarf Lil won't need to be special to make a successful hurdling debut after a narrow defeat in a Perth bumper. Luck Of Clover didn't win in 15 starts on the Flat and showed little on her hurdling debut at Newbury though that was a much better race than this and she could provide the main threat under the champion jockey.
