        Verdict

        This might not take much winning and ODDSMAKER is fancied to defy top weight. Maurice Barnes' gelding is approaching the veteran stage now but has a good record at this track and won over a slightly shorter trip off the mark in September. He'll strip fitter for a recent run at Catterick. Lightly-weighted Thescottishsoldier has hinted at ability and could make the frame while Petella won at Carlisle and Yarmouth last year, though still looks a little high in the weights. Leaving Alone is still a maiden but has shown enough to suggest she can be prominent in a race like this.
