Goblin can see off the challenge of Mount Vettore and A Bit Of Fun, with Moorlaw, and Schinken Otto worth a mention. Goblin appears to be going very much the right way judged on his latest effort over the course and distance in which he only had to pushed out to beat Quarry Island by eight lengths. The opposition may not have amounted to much, but he at least showed that he goes well on good ground on an easy track. A winner three times on the Flat last year, he should progress, but maybe not enough to contest events of the calibre of the Triumph Hurdle, a race that was mentioned by his trainer in dispatches. He should certainly be good enough to make his mark in handicap company though and can use his turn of foot to beat Mount Vettore who did not impress as much when also scoring over track and trip just after Christmas. He in turn should hold Schinken Otto, although the latter would perhaps benefit from learning to settle. He is likely to try and make the pace in company with Fort Churchill, but they are there to be picked off by the main contenders. Moorlaw' s fourth to Diego Cao at Huntingdon looks better in the context of the latter's subsequent victory at Sandown and with Graham Lee on board he can play a part, but we prefer to stick with Goblin.
