Tonnante can follow up at the expense of Sharp Reply, Plane Painter and Toparudi to name but three. Tonnante clearly appreciated the step up to 12-furlongs when scoring at Folkestone last week, and although saddled with a penalty here, has the scope to progress. Seb Sanders had to kid her along last time, so will know what to expect when the pressure is applied, and with another two-furlongs to go, she should hopefully prove up to the task. Sharp Reply has not been seen since scoring over hurdles at Perth in April, but does at least go well here, while Plane Painter, like the selection, represents the three-year-old brigade, and is blessed with plenty of stamina. Toparudi is a course-and-distance winner but will surely find conditions too fast, and we would rather side with Tonnante.
