It might pay to take an each-way chance on last year's winner ODDSMAKER here and we'll do just that. Andrew Heffernan's mount has a deep affinity with the course having gained four of his 10 career wins here and is now 1lb lower than his winning mark of 2009, suggesting he's handicapped to go close. It appears connections have targetted this race too having given their horse a prep-run after nearly three months off and we'll take the hint in a tricky contest. Eijaaz has made hay in plating races of late and loves to hear his hooves rattle but he's got plenty to prove off this mark back in a handicap while Balwearie is probably slightly better on slower ground and that is reason enough to take him on. Edas has to prove his stamina for the trip, Tifoso has never won in the visor and needs the heavens to open while the assistance of the talented Dale Swift may not be enough for Whaston who may still need a run or two to find full fitness following a lengthy absence.
