The feature race on the card looks really hard to sort out with so many talented youngsters on show, and it is with a degree of caution that Wise Wager is selected to beat the likes of Nova Tor, Smiddy Hill and Moth Ball. With Richard Fahey enjoying a fantastic season, Wise Wager will be expected to give a good account of herself. Since scoring at Thirsk in July she has acquitted herself well on two subsequent runs. Second to Nova Tor at Newmarket, she can now meet that rival on four-pound better terms, and she may well have scored at Chester last time had she not run into a well-handicapped rival in Coleorton Dancer. There are plenty more in with claims here such as Smiddy Hill who would go close on her York form. However, she was well down the field behind Wonderful Mind over the course and distance last time and has it to do with that rival who herself is not so well handicapped now. Goodwood winner Moth Ball seems to like faster conditions so will not want any rain, but has the scope to make up into a decent sort over further next year, while Imperial Sound is useful but likely to be anchored by his weight here. Graze On has not done a lot wrong in his short career either and cannot be totally ruled out, but in a real conundrum, Wise Wager, a model of consistency so far, is taken to prevail.
