In depth

Verdict

Winning point-to-pointer and hurdler Dawn Commander has always looked a nice chasing prospect but his two attempts over fences to date have been poor. He warmed up in a jumpers bumper last week and can surely do better than he's shown to date. Blenheim Brook hasn't quite gone as well as expected after his early successes though there's still plenty of time while Posh Bird and Isla Pearl Fisher are quite closely matched and perfectly capable of getting into the mix though both may be a few pounds high. BALDING BANKER scored over timber for Paul Nicholls and has joined Ferdy Murphy. He's done reasonably well over trips too short in his two starts for the yard and with this likely to bring out the best in him he's given the nod to lose his maiden tag over fences.
