Saamidd won the Group 2 Champagne Stakes at Doncaster as a juvenile but has only had four races subsequently and hasn't been seen since disappointing at York in May. He's undoubtedly the class-act here but may find the race-fit KAVANAGH too good this time. Mike De Kock's charge, a Group 2 winner in South Africa, showed good speed for a long way on his debut here last week and with that under his belt can make the expected progress and take this. Time Prisoner ran three times at last year's Carnival, scoring on his debut and running well subsequently, so the lack of a recent run shouldn't be a problem and he should get into the mix. Tertio Bloom is another who performed with credit last year and will be better for his opening run behind Lily's Angel though like the returning Dux Scholar he could have done with a better draw.
