In depth

Verdict

Doug Watson's yard has been in superb form in the preceding fixtures. He has three entries here with RIO ANGIE the pick having made all for a very impressive victory here in November for which an 8lb rise may not prevent a follow-up. Stable companion Golden Goal was just touched off at Sharjah last time and should be capable of turning the tables on Kinver Edge, who beat him into second on his previous start but is much worse off. Important Mission comfortably landed a Listed race over the track and trip last month and his stable has also been in outstanding form. He doesn't appear certain to confirm running with Behavioral Bias, though the latter did little for the form next time. Ed Walker's Desert Doctor finished runner-up on his debut over the track and trip a year ago and scored at Kempton in October while Frankie Dettori will be keen to get off to a good start on Dubai Icon, especially back riding for Godolphin, though his mount has never raced below a mile.
