GOLDEN SWORD did extremely well to finish runner-up to City Style over a trip much too short and from a poor draw two weeks ago and the 2009 Chester Vase winner looks ready to return to winning ways. Final Drive, who was attempting a four-timer after a Polytrack hat-trick in December, ran extremely well to finish a close third and is probably not done with yet. Persiste Et Signe has been sent here after landing a conditions race on Fibresand at Deauville in December and is one to note under Olivier Peslier. Kal Barg never got going here last time after missing the break and is much better than that and it will be interesting to see how Godolphin's Argentine import Dear Bela, runner-up in a Grade 1 at Palermo in November 2011, performs after her very long break. Godolphin also run Snowmaster, a regular at Santa Anita but missing since well beaten in a Grade 3 there last March. As De Trebol is based in Spain but has produced some decent form in France so should be of interest.
