          Verdict

          Big Challenge was a bit unlucky to be caught on the line at Kempton as he was impeded before getting to the front. But RECORDMAN (NAP) won comfortably at Abu Dhabi on just his second start for his new yard and a 3lb rise looks by no means excessive. Jim Crowley was on board when he scored at Abu Dhabi though not for his next run there. Third-placed Mudaarab looks held but Valcartier, who finished ninth, was nowhere near ready and can get much closer. Tafaakhor won a Jebel Ali handicap in November, though has shot up the weights as a consequence, but Muqaatil completed a hat-trick when scoring at Abu Dhabi in the spring and still looks reasonably treated. Philosopher may prove best of the remainder.
