        Verdict

        Craving, a winner at Southwell last March, made a successful start at Jebel Ali when scoring with a bit in hand. He's up 6lb but should give a good account. WELSH LORD won at Chelmsford in September and his two runs on this track have been in much better company. This is more his class and he can return to winning ways. Doug Watson saddles four and Grand Argentier has slipped to a winnable mark, though he hasn't been in the best of form, while Pirate's Cove has been racing over 6f and may find this too far. Quartier Francais would prefer further and has shot up the weights since winning over 1m2f in November but Welford is consistent enough in this grade and looks likely to get into contention again.
