Free Range, a dual winner between the flags, has a first and second to his name over hurdles and should make an even better chaser. He’s certainly one for the short-list in this while Compadre wasn’t winning out of turn at Huntingdon, though the second has been well beaten since. RUNNING WOLF has gone up 9lb for winning at Leicester but he did win over these fences back in May and, only six, may be capable of better still. General Mahler has become a little disappointing over hurdles though might do better switched to fences but Iskabeg Lane didn’t beat much here earlier in the month.
