DAL HORRISGLE, a very useful Flat handicapper for William Haggas, landed a first hurdling success in the care of Alan King at Uttoxeter with the minimum of fuss. It will be interesting to watch his progress up the hurdling ladder. Socks Off landed his sole success to date in a National Hunt Flat race in the winter and delivered a career-best effort over timber when a close Hexham third last time in a decent contest. He travelled well that day and could give the likely favourite a race in receipt of a stone with the Brogan claim factored in. Gms Prince didn't run too badly this month but does appear outclassed.
Dal Horrisgle 13-8fav (10-13) Midfield, travelled well into lead 3 out, went clear 2 out on bridle, very easy, won at Uttoxeter 2m 4f (4) gd in Jun beating Echo Du Large (10-13) by 34l, 7 ran.
Gms Prince 28-1 (11-4) Towards rear, some headway after 3 out, not fluent when slightly outpaced 2 out, kept on well after the last, 4th of 11, 13l behind Chasamax (11-4) at Uttoxeter 2m mdn (4) gd in Jun.
Socks Off (IRE) 10-1 (10-9) Held up towards rear, headway after 6th, went 3rd before last, edged left and held flat, stayed on, 3rd of 10, 3 1/2l behind The Wrekin (11-10) at Hexham 2m (3) gd in Jun.
