Piment D'Estruval is the one to watch in the market but without that guide we'll play it safer with MARLBOROUGH SOUND who can get the better of Silver Accord and Kilshannig. Having had only 11 starts in a career dating back to 2004 clearly our selection has had his problems, but if he can build on a ready success at Towcester then he's got excellent prospects of doubling up. Of course Towcester and Market Rasen are two very different tracks but as his win last time came in a hands and heels race the 11-year-old gets to race off the same mark here and he was a facile victor. In a race where making cases for most is a tough task he's given the vote ahead of Silver Accord. Oliver Sherwood's charge had been disappointing prior to taking a laboured second last time but that was a step back in the right direction and he may build on it under similar conditions. Kilshannig is probably better than the bare form of his latest run having been hampered and this extra furlong should suit; his sole hurdles success came over today's trip. That said he probably needs a bit of help from the assessor before coming of serious interest. Both of Terenzium's hurdle wins have come at Wetherby and the 5lb rise he's incurred for taking second last time is enough for us to look elsewhere with Piment D'Estruval of more interest. He's having his first start for Tim Vaughan and that alone makes us sit up and take notice with Richard Johnson in the plate; the pair are always to be feared and a market check is essential. Unless they pile into Piment D'Estruval this has a wide-open look; our vote at this stage goes to Marlborough Sound.
