Loves Travelling may recapture his form here, with Changing Gear, Lunar Sovereign and Present Oriented just a few dangers in a trappy looking event. It has to be said that nothing at all stands out here on recent evidence, but Loves Travelling shaped fairly well when staying on in fifth behind Wiggy Smith on his racecourse bow here last month. A once useful middle-distance performer for Luca Cumani, for whom he captured the Cumberland Plate at Carlise two years ago, the gelding then lost his form completely, and a switch to Noel Wilson did not make any difference. That was on the Flat though, and his fortunes could be about to change here, especially with a step up in trip here to help his cause. Changing Gear went out like a light when fancied at Uttoxeter and that has to be a worry, while Lunar Sovereign will have been well galloped but is still going to be all the better for this first outing since March. Present Oriented has gone off the boil after showing earlier promise, and needs to brush up his jumping to figure, so for the winner we return to Loves Travelling.
