As the highest rated in this Hunters' Chase and with some improving efforts recently the vote goes to BOB HALL ahead of McEvoy and City Affair. Instead of being at the top of the weights here the selection finds himself in receipt of eight pounds from his nearest rival who is actually rated six pounds lighter. Added to these excellent terms he's returned to form in these sorts of races this season and he looks ready to win. McEvoy has those terms to over turn on the pick but he has been running well and took a weak looking Hunters' Chase on his penultimate start and he is capable of even better. Tim Vaughan saddles City Affair, who has been in good form in some Novice Chases and has run well in the company in the past but he does have 14lbs to find on the pick according to the official ratings. Overlut shouldn't be ignored after winning one of these in February but his form is a little inconsistent so instead we make preference for Bob Hall.
