As is usually the case with bumpers at this time of year, there is not a lot of form for backers to go on and it may be worth taking a chance with the Paul Nicholls newcomer Derry City, who is marginally preferred to Camden Four and Hello You. The last mentioned has won his only previous start, a Worcester bumper back in April, and has to be respected but lack of a run since then and more importantly a 7lb penalty for that success leaves him with more to do here. David Pipe's Bandmaster filly Red Riband has to be of some interest on her debut, while Izita Star was outclassed in a decent Aintree bumper when last seen but had previously run well at Warwick and is another to consider. Henrietta Knight's War Footing is bred to be useful but more solid claims are held by the Evan Williams-trained Camden Four, who has shown a decent level of form in both starts so far. Preference though is for Derry City who is a half-brother to the useful Roll Along, from the family of Charter Party and he is taken to make a winning debut.
