Verdict
Bak To Bill has been a model of consistency this term but the handicapper has taken note and the 10-year-old may struggle to concede weight away all round so the vote goes to Our Prima Donna, who is preferred to Tom Sayers. The last mentioned has had just one start, behind the progressive Celtic Son, over hurdles since joining Philip Hobbs and is now put straight over fences so has to be respected. However, the seven-year-old was beaten a long way out at Exeter and may just need this. Winning pointer Lambrini Mist has a nice racing weight and could be interesting on only his second start over regulation fences. Similar comments apply to Steve Brookshaw's Pollensa Bay who would not mind any further rain, while Alcatras has claims on the pick of his form but is inconsistent. The vote though goes to Our Prima Donna, who showed enough in limited opportunities over hurdles to suggest that she can win races and the daughter of Be My Native is taken to do so now that trainer Venetia Williams switches her to the larger obstacles.
