    Verdict

Scratch The Dove will no doubt be a popular choice after her gutsy success at Leicester, but that was gained in gruelling conditions over further. The drop back in trip will help but she might find herself being outspeeded by her lighter-weighted opponents. One of those is Reverse Swing who made the most of her low mark when opening her account at Wincanton on what was her first run for Heather Dalton. This does not look much tougher and she will go close. Connections were forced to go to 8,000gns to retain Scented Air after her debut success over hurdles at Stratford in October and she then ran second to Martin Pipe's Bongo Fury on a return visit. Despite playing up and unseating her pilot before the start of her next outing at Cheltenham, this ex-Flat miler gave a good account throughout, in the end finishing seventh in what was a better race than this. With plenty going for, Scented Air gets the TEAMtalk vote.
