tracked leader, led 4th, clear from 13th, easily
tracked leaders, mistake 4th, ridden 13th, weakened approaching last
jumped left, led to 4th, reminders 9th, went 2nd 11th, ridden after 13th, no chance with winner
keen, always behind, mistake 11th, lost touch from 13th
Burning Truth has been knocking at the door, and can finally come good here at the expense of Doberman. Burning Truth was a familiar sight in the winner's enclosure on the all-weather a couple of years ago, but was no slouch over hurdles, scoring three times in all, including here when allowed to force the pace. Since going over fences, Matt Sheppard's charge has been runner-up no less than five times. His latest effort when chasing home Sam Adamson at Hereford, came off topweight in a handicap, but he meets these rivals on much more favourable terms and should finally gain due reward. To put that into perspective, Doberman was 15 lengths behind the selection at Hereford, receiving eight pounds, and now has to reoppose off levels. He plugged on at the one pace at Stratford recently and surely cannot turn the tables. Nor can Beedulup on a line through Sam Adamson, while Rainbow Dance, touched off on a selling hurdle five days ago, has disappointed over fences in the past and is hardly reliable. All in all, Burning Truth has a great chance, and if you can get odds-against, snap it up quickly.
