In depth

Verdict

The Richard Lee-trained Macgeorge apparently has no idea that he is now in the veteran stage of his career and is fancied to be too hot for the formerly classy Montifault to handle. Guinol Du Cochet is usually consistent at this level and, as he has a recent outing to his name, he edges Bengal Bullet out as the best of the rest. Montifault - a Listed race winner when he was at his best - has a history of bursting but will find this company much easier than some of the contests he has taken part in from the past. However, he was too disappointing to be true last time and now has something to prove. Therefore, Macgeorge makes more appeal for a punt in this company, as he is reliable as clock and will be hard to peg back if he is allowed an easy lead.
