In depth

Verdict

A few of these come into the race with something to prove so it may be worth giving another chance to Lotus Des Pictons, who is unexposed over fences and makes slightly more appeal than Scotch Corner, who is capable of going well but has to prove his stamina as he tries this trip for the first time. Another of interest is former pointer Kenzo III, who makes his rules debut for Nicky Henderson. He is one to take notes on for next time whatever happens here. Pollensa Bay put in an improved performance last time out and could also figure strongly if they do not go off at too fast a pace. However, as that cannot be guaranteed he does appear to have a little to find and looks opposable in this company. As does Glacial Evening, who got no further than the sixth fence on his chasing debut and now has a little to prove. Therefore, we return to Lotus Des Pictons who was traveling ominously well before falling at the second-last on his chasing debut. With Martin Pipe sure to have sharpened him up with intensive schooling since then, he is fully expected to gain compensation today.
