There is a distinct lack of strength in depth to the form of most of the field and the selection of Intox III is made as much in hope as it is in faith. The Martin Pipe-trained seven-year-old has faced much stiffer tests than this in the past and will not need to be made to work as hard as he takes a drop into selling company for the first time here. It will be no surprise to see the Tony McCoy send him into an early lead and he will be hard to catch if allowed too much of a free reign. Renzo and Knighsbridge King have claims on the pick of their form and are rated as live dangers. However, Magical Day goes well in this sort of contest and appeals as a value selection against the Pipe/McCoy partnership.
