In depth

Verdict

Father Jed arrived here a year ago in superb form and scored from just 2lb lower so has to be on the shortlist along with Outside The Door, who won over hurdles at the fixture last year. The latter won a handicap over fences at Wexford in June but MICA MALPIC (NAP) had survived several bad mistakes to be three lengths ahead at the last before coming down. Derek O'Connor has been booked and his mount jumped much better at Killarney last time. Brideswell Lad has really found his form this summer scoring convincingly at Limerick and Wexford and, though 8lb higher, his rider claims most of that back. Ardaghs Choice was behind him at Limerick before winning easily at Wexford then couldn't hold off the in-form Krujers Girl at Downpatrick.
