The majority of these would be much better off with obstacles to jump including Ted Veale, a winner over fences at the Galway Festival before a moderate effort in the Ebor at York. Rebel Fitz was in brilliant form over fences last winter, culminating in a facile victory in the Grade 1 Powers Gold Cup at Fairyhouse in May. He generally needs his first run back and will have much bigger targets over the next few months. ALTON BAY arrives in tremendous form having won his last four races and though he only had two to beat at Wexford last time both were better fancied but he easily put them in their place. His penalties make this tough but he can complete a five-timer. Marchese Marconi is also in good form and very consistent at this sort of level so he looks a big threat along with Little Rocky, who started favourite when beaten 14l by the selection over timber at Ballinrobe in July but has some decent form on the Flat.
