DANCING ON MY OWN defied a big weight in a Grade 3 handicap at Aintree in April. That was a career-best effort and he gets a massive 15lb in this from last year’s winner Easy Game taking into account Mike O’Connor’s claim. The latter is an impressive 12-24 over fences, however, and has won Grade 2 contests the last twice so won’t go down without a fight. Effernock Fizz was well beaten when Jeremys Flame beat Hurricane Georgie a length-and-a-half at Limerick and all three of the mares face a stiff task against the geldings on these terms.
Easy Game (FR) 2-1 (11-10) Led, headed before 6 out, pushed along and no impression on leader after 2 out, left well clear last, won at Fairyhouse 2m 4f (1) sft in Apr beating Royal Rendezvous (11-10) by dist, 4 ran.
Jeremys Flame (IRE) 3-1 (11-7) Tracked leaders, 2nd after 5th and headway to lead 5 out, 3 lengths clear when slight mistake 3 out, travelled well before next, pushed out and kept on run-in, reduced advantage close home, won at Limerick 2m 4f gd in May beating Hurricane Georgie (10-11) by 1 1/4l, 4 ran.
Dancing On My Own (IRE) 15-2 (11-10) Chased leader until not fluent 4 out, went 2nd again after 2 out, switched right after last, stayed on, led towards finish, won at Aintree 2m hcp (1) gs in Apr beating Douglas Talking (11-0) by 1 1/2l, 13 ran.
Effernock Fizz (IRE) 7-4fav (11-2) Led, headed after 5th, 2nd halfway, pushed along after 3 out and no impression in 3rd entering straight, no extra after 2 out, last of 4, 19 3/4l behind Jeremys Flame (11-7) at Limerick 2m 4f gd in May.
