A fairly open handicap can go to Badou, winner of two of his last three starts, with Eastern Blue, Aguila Loco if turning out, and Jahangir others to consider. Badou has been placed to good effect twice this year already, at Wolverhampton and more recently over today's course and distance. His win at Dunstal Park was over seven furlongs but the six here takes some getting, and his stamina helped him here six days ago. He does have a six-pound penalty to overcome but sets the standard. Aguila Loco was down to run on Saturday but if lining up, will be a danger as he is most consistent and should make the frame at least. Eastern Blue has not raced much on the all-weather and comes into this in the back of a fair effort no more in claiming company. She is on a decent enough mark now though and will be ably assisted by Kieren Fallon who has only ridden her once before, and that was when she won at Nottingham, so do not rule her out of calculations. Bells Beach has a tough task at the top of the weights, and a bigger danger may be Jahangir who continues to shape well, and it will surely not be long before he visits the winner's enclosure. Today though, that berth should be reserved for Badou.
