Barrantes has been in excellent heart at present and can land the finale while Risque Sermon, Tomthevic and General Smith are others who enter calculations. The seletion has proved a model of consistency this term and, following a string of placed efforts, the six-year-old mare gained an overdue success when a comfortable winner over course and distance last week. Sheena West's mare has been raised 8lb since but won with something in hand and is expected to confirm placings with the runner-up, Tomthevic. Risque Sermon showed some improvement in first-time blinkers when second in a claimer on the Polytrack here last time but this is tougher while General Smith shaped promisingly on his latest start and may reach the frame. However, Barrantes is a sprinter in form and looks worth following with conditions in her favour.
