Verdict

Ba Clubman landed a touch last time and can pay to follow again, with Man Crazy, Secam and Pheckless seen as the main dangers. The selection did not get the run of the race when unplaced behind Man Crazy over the course and distance on Valentines Day, but made amends just 24 hours later when turned out over seven furlongs at Southwell. Well backed, he was driven out to land that claimer at the expense of Self Belief and was claimed afterwards by Barrie Leavy who should get immediate reward, providing the five-year-old does not encounter the same bad luck in running as on his last visit. Ex-Polish Secam scored over a mile here the time before last and figured in a blanket finish over the course and distance a fortnight ago. He would be more fancied when stepped back up in trip and is opposed. Pheckless was given a good ride by George Baker here last time and the drop back in trip should not be a problem. He is yet another with claims, but a narrow vote goes to Ba Clubman.
