Beamsley Beacon has had seconditis but can come good at the expense of Vlasta Weiner, Midmaar, Laurel Dawn and Arctic Burst. There are quite a few in with chances here, but Beamsley Beacon is worth persevering with in the hope that he can finally go one better than of late. Michael Dods sends him all the way down from Darlington in the belief that he can get the losses back after his exploits at the two other all-weather venues. This will be his first visit to Lingfield and if he can get out handy from stall two, he should be up there battling at the finish. Vlasta Weiner scored over seven furlongs at Wolverhampton before finding the drop back to the minimum a hindrance at Southwell last time. The step back up should therefore suit and he will be a danger. Midmaar was successful over six furlongs in France in 2003 and showed his first form since when beaten only a short-head by Zinging over seven furlongs here 26 days ago. That was his first outing in five months and so he must be on the short-list as well. Laurel Dawn is very experienced but does not win too often these days, while Master Rattle has a long absence to overcome. For the winner we return to the luckless Beamsley Beacon.
