Tom Dascombe has his string in good form and CHIC SHANIQUE can provide him with another winner; First Spirit and Valkyrie rate as the main dangers. The selection is a likeable filly and she was only narrowly beaten at Beverley last time when she finished second behind Rosewin. There should be more to come as she has only had the five runs and she looks to have a big chance. First Spirit was a beaten favourite here last time and although she would have claims on her best form, she could be vulnerable today in a tougher race. Valkyrie was well beaten in a maiden here in March but she has shaped with a bit more encouragement in handicap company on her last couple of starts and she might be capable of running into a place. Peak is yet to be placed in five starts so is hard to nominate with any confidence, and in a race that appears to lack strength in depth we will side with Chic Shanique.
