There are plenty of interesting newcomers here, but Porters it is that gets the vote over King Alfie, Rembrandt Quality and Bitter Chill. The market should definitely be noted here, with the likes of Marcus Tregoning, Brian Meehan and Amanda Perrett all saddling newcomers, but Porters can boast plenty of experience and is selected to land his second career success on his first visit to Lingfield. After opening his account at Newmarket in June it is disappointing that he has not gone on from that and gained more success, but his recent third on Wolverhampton's Polytrack surface was encouraging, and he looks set to strike. King Alfie is likely to make the pace, but his claiming victory at Redcar gives him more to do, but Rembrandt Quality can improve markedly on his debut run at Newbury where he took too keen a hold. The faster surface will be in his favour as well, and he looks the best of Amanda Perrett's pair. Bitter Chill would be a topical tip given the recent cold spell, and as he may not have appreciated the soft ground when sent off as favourite on his Nottingham introduction, he too should be closely watched. However, we return to Porters as the answer.
