An intriguing contest where the three to concentrate on are Chaperno, Treadwell and RACY, with the vote given to Sir Michael Stoute's Medicean colt. The selection made a pleasing start to his career (despite being a beaten favourite) when second to Wellington Fair at Sandown on debut. He then followed that up with a comprehensive success at Pontefract, where he seemed to appreciate being stepped up in trip. His jockey will need to ensure that he is not too far away from the pace on this easier track, but with confidence high this first foal of a Lowther winner is taken to prevail. Treadwell won well at Kempton last time and has contested some decent races this year; six furlongs is his trip and he cannot be underestimated despite his penalties. Chaperno has not always found too much when coming off the bridle but this 94-rated individual must still be respected, Ongoodform steps up in class after a far effort at Warwick last time out, whilst Magnus Thrax has run two fair races in some sales contests this autumn and the drop back to this trip shouldn't hinder his chance. They look the major players, and it is Racy who can win again.
