Eccentric can make the most of the weight that he receives from the other recent winner Generous Gesture, with Docklands Blue not to be ruled out entirely. Eccentric appreciated the drop back to seven furlongs when opening his account here last month, given a fine, positive ride by Adrian Nicholls in the process, and will get just as much help in the saddle from Darryll Holland. This will only be his fourth ever outing and although it remains to be seen whether the handicapper has been kind or not, he has plenty of scope. The four pounds that he receives from Generous Gesture will come in handy, although the topweight is a little bit more experienced, and also made her first visit to the winner's enclosure when scoring over six furlongs at Southwell. She is bred to get seven furlongs and will in time according to her trainer, but that slight doubt is enough to put us off. Docklands Blue ran quite well recently and gets in on bottom weight so should not be entirely dismissed, but with more to come, Eccentric gets the vote.
