Silver Pivotal has won first-time up in the past and is taken to score today at the main expense of the improving Mafeking and Lisathedaddy. In truth there are more than a handful who can be given a really solid chance here but Gerard Butler's progressive filly has the look of a horse going places. She signed off last season with a win in a Listed contest at York and certainly shapes as if this slightly longer trip today will hold no fears. Her mark of 98 means that she will have needed to prosper over the winter but with further improvement to come, she can take this quality contest. Greek Easter and Alpes Maritimes are both recent winners and each has a fair draw from which to emerge, whilst Gary Moore also has King's Head and Cold Turkey to represent him here. Speedy Sam is just one of a plethora of course and distance winners and his stable are in good form as are Stan Moore's runners and he has the reliable Sgt Schultz here. A big run should be on the cards given his good second last time, whilst Tartan Tie and Fusili also need respect. A tough contest, however we will return to Silver Pivotal as the nomination.
