A bold show from Quality Street in the previous race will give a good boost to the chances of Cosmic Destiny, who just edges the verdict over Contentious and Glencal, while Lake Hero is a consistent type that can never be ruled out in a race of this nature. The last named showed useful form for Kevin Ryan before being sidelined for the best part of a year and a half. Now with Mark Wallace, the daughter of Arkadian Hero has not been rushed into anything this year but it remains to be seen if she still has the ability to overcome top weight. Glencal debuts in a handicap off a featherweight and it would not be spurring to see Compton Place filly make a mockery of her current rating. However, she does need to step up on what she has shown up to press, so does not face a striaghtforward test. Contentious made a winning start in handicaps at Brighton 17 days ago and has to be respected. The three-year-old still has plenty of scope for improvement and is likely to be a popular choice in the betting. However, that will help to build up the price for Cosmic Destiny, whose consistency can prove to be her trump card at this level. Jim Crowley has really built up a good understanding of how tom get the best from Ed Vaughan's filly and she is readily preferred in the finale.
