PERFECT ACT is hard to oppose in this contest. She's been unable to repeat December's win at Kempton when she got the better of the progressive Anne Of Kiev, but Andrew Balding's filly still has much the best form and can take advantage of today's favourable terms. Chimpunk and Hinton Admiral both drop back in trip after recent defeats over 7f and the former makes more appeal as he has more scope for improvement, but Southwell winner Bonnie Prince Blue has been below par of late and is hard to fancy.
Hinton Admiral 7-2 (9-12) Pulled hard, chased leader, every chance 2f out, lost 2nd over 1f out, no extra inside final furlong, 3rd of 4, 5l behind Jake The Snake (9-12) at Kempton 7f clm stks (5) pol.
Perfect Act 20-1 (9-1) Went right start, keen mid-division, ridden over 1f out, no impression, 8th of 12, 3 1/2l behind Five Star Junior (9-4) at Lingfield 6f hcp 0-95 (3) pol in Feb.
Bonnie Prince Blue 33-1 (8-13) Tracked leaders, ridden over 1f out, soon weakened, 8th of 14, 9l behind New Leyf (9-6) at Kempton 7f hcp 0-85 (4) pol.
Chimpunk (USA) 2-1 (9-4) Took keen hold, held up in touch, challenged over 2f out until edged left over 1f out, one pace final furlong, 3rd of 7, 10l behind Unlimited (9-4) at Wolverhampton 7f sell stks (6) pol.
