held up, never troubled leaders
slowly into stride, towards rear, ridden 3f out, never nearer
keen, always in rear
pulled hard, led over 8f out, ridden out
held up, ridden and headway over 2f out, weakened over 1f out
keen, tracked winner, ridden over 2f out, stayed on, one pace
pulled hard, tracked leaders, ridden and weakened over 1f out
always in rear
in touch, ridden 2f out, stayed on one pace inside final furlong
held up, headeway 2f out, chased winner over 1f out, not run on inside final furlong
held up, headway over 2f out, soon ridden, stayed on same pace
Gary Moore is double handed here with Amnesty and Another Secret and both should run well, but for the selection we will side with Steely Dan. The John Best trained gelding has taken some time to come back to form but ran a blinder to finish a close second behind the well handicapped Alafzar over the mile trip here last week. He wasn't stopping at the end of that contest and should appreciate today's extra distance. Amnesty was out-stayed over 13 furlongs last time but did much better over this trip on his previous outing when a close up fourth behind Regal Gallery. Another Secret is still a maiden but did well to finish third behind the well treated Brave Dane last time and should figure in the finish. Of the others Shifty makes his Polytrack debut and could go well for his shrewd handler, but in a very competitive event Steely Dan is the choice.
