Verdict

The shortlist contains Hollow Jo, Quantum Leap and Everygrainofsand, with the last-named being the selection. We initially based our assessment on horses that have winning form within the last year or so and who are not badly drawn. Course and distance winner Hollow Jo is now a pound below a Wolverhampton winning mark and is drawn in stall four. Romany Nights is drawn five and is back to below a winning mark from a year ago. Quantum Leap loves it here and wins in his turn from around today's mark. Of the others, and the lightly-raced Everygrainofsand gives us the impression that his mark is fair and, accordingly, he can go well, but Glencalvie has been disapointing to date, Purus is at least dropping to a more-reasonable rating, Greenwood is just a pound above a winning course and distance mark, although he is widely drawn, all of which returns us to the selection, which is Everygrainofsand.
