In depth

Verdict

Jim Best and Paul John have had their problems lately but Kiama Bay can go well for the partnership here as he's well up to this class and will have been sharpened up by a run over fences at Newcastle, his first start since February. Template is only four and well on the upgrade as he showed with a battling victory in this grade at Huntingdon. He's up 5lb but it will be a surprise if he's not in contention again. Superciliary has won four times over hurdles, all at a grade below this, and he's up 9lb for a very easy victory at Fontwell. DORMOUSE loves the track and heavy going as he demonstrated last weekend where he stayed on strongly to catch Tara Bridge on the run-in. A 4lb rise doesn't appear too harsh and with conditions again in his favour he's taken to complete a quick double. Light Well hasn't run since placed in a novice event at Ascot over a year ago and makes his handicap debut.
