      Verdict

Pace Shot, Viz, This Is My Song and Pekan One form the shortlist here with the vote going Pace Shot. Pace Shot has been placed on most of his starts and, in what is a modest race overall, he will be in the picture again, barring mishaps. Viz has looked more than capable of winning a race of this nature, having been placed in both of her starts, and appears to hold a decent chance today. This Is My Song's form is more than good enough to play a part here, and she provided further evidence to support this when third to Miss Provvidence over course and distance last time, while her stablemate, Twinkling Star, could be interesting on her debut. The 170,000 guineas son of Grand Lodge, Pekan One, is of obvious interest on his debut, while Bay Hawk disappointed on his seasonal return but had suggested in his sole two-year-old start that he could win a race of this nature so really ought to show up in a modest event. Double Kudos's form from earlier in the season gives him claims, but the vote stays with Pace Shot.
