Not much strength in depth here and it should just concern Celadon and Tribute, with the latter getting the vote, despite a less than ideal draw. Made favourite for a hot nursery at headquarters, David Loder's colt travelled well for much of the trip, but failed to get home. Prior to that he had chased home impressive winner Dallah here, who followed up her effort with a solid run in the Group 3 Molecomb Stakes. The drop to this trip should suit Tribute, who is taken to prove too sharp for Celadon, who was quietly fancied to make a winning debut at Windsor back in May. Not seen since, he is unlikely to be found wanting for fitness, but he faces a tough rival in Tribute. Best Desert looks to have plenty to prove now after flopping at Folkestone, following a promising debut, while Green Manalishi would have place claims if stripping fit following a lay off. Choristar is a half-brother to useful handicapper Texas Gold and is one to keep an eye on regarding the future, but Tribute has the form in the bank and looks sure to appreciate this drop in trip.
