In a tricky race, from a long shortlist of Sweetest Revenge, Elvina, Amelia, Avit and Jasmine Pearl, we will side with Sweetest Revenge. Well-drawn, Sweetest Revenge is well-weighted on last summer's form and, although maybe not quite as good these days, she won off a mark of 53 - now rated 55 - two runs ago and has shown more than enough of late to be competitive at this level. Bella Boy Zee has a chance on last year's form, but is struggling to regain it this year, while Elvina is lightly-raced and is on a mark from which we feel she is capable of winning. Empress Josephine has yet to perform to her best here, while Amelia certainly has a chance if at her best. My Girl Pearl has a good chance on her Turf form, but her all-weather form is not quite so good, but Avit has been running well enough on the all-weather and Turf of late to be one you have to consider. Finally, Velvet Touch put in an improved effort last time, but that was on Turf, while The Baroness has won on the all-weather, but at Banded level, while Jasmine Pearl keeps knocking at the door and should be doing the same again today. Overall, though, a tentative vote goes to Sweetest Revenge.
