The progressive NORTONTHORPE BOY has now won four of only eight outings on the all-weather having shrugged off a 6lb rise to win cosily at Wolverhampton earlier in the week. The handicapper may not have caught up with him yet and he’s preferred to Ibn Arabi. The latter also won at Wolverhampton last time but that was over 6f in maiden company while Majestic Tejaan found one too good again on her latest start though is less exposed than Rohaan, who landed a hat-trick in December but looks high enough in the weights now.
Rohaan (IRE) 4-1 (9-2) Chased leaders on inside, pushed along over 2f out, ridden over 1f out, weakened soon after, last of 5, 4 3/4l behind Mighty Gurkha (9-7) at Kempton 6f stks (2) pol in Jan.
Ibn Arabi (IRE) 11-2 (8-12) Edgy and gave problems loading, chased leader who went clear halfway, closer over 1f out, shaken up to lead inside final furlong, soon clear, won at Wolverhampton 6f mdn stks (5) pol in Jan beating Winnetka (10-0) by 6 1/2l, 5 ran.
Nortonthorpe Boy 9-2 (9-1) Pulled hard tracked leader 3f, tracked leaders, headway to chase leader over 1f out, edged left and led inside final furlong, ridden out, won at Wolverhampton 7f hcp (4) pol in Feb beating Toussarok (9-7) by 2l, 6 ran.
Majestic Tejaan (IRE) 9-2 (8-13) In touch, pushed along and headway 2f out, ridden approaching final furlong, stayed on to go 2nd towards finish, 2nd of 7, 1/2l behind Fayathaan (9-7) at Wolverhampton 7f hcp (4) pol in Jan.
